Memorialize her history. Take part in her tomorrow.
The mission of the USS Yorktown Foundation is to cultivate a unique learning environment that connects generations by celebrating America’s history and its heroes, inspiring freedom, patriotism, leadership and service.
Honoring history and heroes in an awe-inspiring setting, Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum is America’s first aircraft carrier museum. Nearly 400,000 people visit Charleston Harbor every year to relive history aboard our legendary ships – and to behold the only Vietnam Naval Support Base Camp in the United States, Medal of Honor Museum, and the Cold War Submarine Memorial. Patriots Point is South Carolina’s leading heritage attraction, and with your help, we can maintain this distinction for generations to come. To preserve the living history of Patriots Point, we need all hands on deck.
Although Patriots Point is a state agency, the museum receives no appropriated funding and looks to the USS Yorktown Foundation
for assistance. Your donation will help fund exhibit renovations improvements onboard the USS Yorktown, opening more parts of the ship to the public; fund new education programs, including a mobile Flight Academy; and fund upgrades to the museum’s technology to keep Patriots Point a dynamic, interactive and imaginative learning experience. We hope you’ll embark on this next journey with us.
Our growing team of volunteers performs a number of vital missions at Patriots Point.
Whether it's working with our visitors or working behind the scenes, the mission is clear: "Preserve historical accuracy and share the message of patriotism for generations to come."
Being a Patriots Point volunteer means making new friends, personal satisfaction and teamwork. Ready to join us? Call Bobby Kotlowski, Patriots Point Volunteer Coordinator at 843.881.5989 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
