Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Will Be Held Sunday on USS Yorktown
Molly Hamilton Dec 03, 2014On Sunday, Dec. 7th a memorial service for the 73rd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor will be held onboard the USS Yorktown. The service, organized together with Mt. Pleasant VFW Post 10624, will begin at 11 a.m. There will be a tolling of a bell in memory of the 25 South Carolinians who were killed in the attack. Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. James Livingston will be one of the featured speakers. In addition, various veterans and military groups will lay wreaths in memory of those who died.
The service is free to the public. Admission to the museum will be waived from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Parking will cost $5 per vehicle.
