can we view the Laffey from the pier (I know she can’t be toured)? If so, how we reach that pier? I am a “tin can sailor” same class of can – USS Charles S. Sperry DD697. Would love to show my grandkids (at least from the outside) the old man’s ship style. Pls. advise
Thanks

Hi Mike,
She is moored in Shipyard Creek over in North Charleston…you can see her if you drive down to the end of Pittsburgh Avenue, but she is not open for tours. Hopefully back to PP in January 2012.
