Will there be a land-side party?

No. All event festivities will take place aboard the Yorktown, and no land-side viewing will be available.

Are separate pricing options available for children or military/veterans?

No. All guests over the age of one will need their own ticket.

Are there any ticket refunds if there is inclement weather?

All ticket sales are final. The fireworks will go off rain or shine.

Safety is a priority. The Patriots Point public safety team will relocate visitors to the aircraft carrier’s hangar deck if there are unsafe weather conditions. In that case, the flight deck will reopen when the storm has passed. Rain is usually not considered a safety risk. Safety measures are typically only needed for strong winds and lightning.

What time will guests be allowed on the flight deck?

Guests may board the ship starting at 6 p.m. Bag checking stations will begin land-side at 5 p.m.

What is the bag policy?

To provide a safer environment and expedite event entry, Patriots Point will enforce a clear bag policy. Exceptions to this policy will be made for all medically necessary items after proper inspection.

Are coolers and wagons allowed?

No. Coolers and outside food/beverages are not allowed. Wheelchairs and strollers are the only wheeled items permitted on the ship.

Will tables and chairs be provided?

No seating will be provided on the Flight Deck; guests are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs. A limited number of tables will be available in the food court area in Hangar Bay 3.

What time will the fireworks start?

The sun is expected to begin setting at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks will begin once it is completely dark, usually by 9:20 p.m.

Can we tour the USS Yorktown if we purchase a Fireworks Blast ticket?

No, access will be limited to the USS Yorktown’s flight deck and Hangar Bays.

If I purchase a museum ticket during the day, what time will I have to leave?

The museum will close at 3:00 p.m., with the last ticket being sold at 2:00 p.m.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not permitted at Patriots Point for the Fourth of July Blast except for service animals. Service animal owners should be aware that the surface of the flight deck (an enhanced viewing ticket is needed) can get very hot in high temperatures during the summer.

Is there an elevator available for the handicapped?

Yes. We have an elevator to get to the Flight Deck and is reserved for people with mobility issues.

Can’t wait to see you there!
