A plastic clipboard shaped to be worn around the thigh with a cloth strap to hold the aviator kneeboard in place. Pertinent information and documents are affixed to the clipboard on top. Information on optimum speeds, landing procedure, flight inspection test, ground check, pre-flight inspection, before start list, emergency air start list, and port to starboard can be found on the checklist.

Context
As a F4U Corsair fighter-bomber pilot in the Pacific, Gerald Hennesy flew almost 100 missions off the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-10). He received the Air Medal for downing an enemy aircraft during a rescue mission for one of his fellow pilots.
