M107 Water Trailer
Description
An olive drab cylindrical tank with a single axel, two black tires, and a hitch. The top of the tank has two access points with latched lids for pumping in or removing water.
Context
The M107 Water Trailer or "Water Buffalo" was used to transport and store up to 400 gallons of drinkable water to troops in the field. Water transport was extremely important during the Vietnam War, especially dry the dry season, which can last four to six months out of the year.
The water trailer arrived at Patriots Point in 2014 after being donated by the South Carolina State Guard.
