9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will host the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit Thursday, May 3 through Sunday, May 6. Visitors may tour the exhibit for free each day from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The traveling exhibit honors the more than 3,000 victims killed during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Free admission to the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit is made possible by the USS Yorktown Foundation and Motley Rice LLC. The normal parking rate of $5 will apply.

Those who visit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit will be guided through the 1,100 square foot display by New York City firefighters. Through the presentation of artifacts, including steel beams recovered after the collapse of the World Trade Center, documentary video, and recordings of first-responder radio transmissions, guests will learn intimate details about the attacks and the ultimate sacrifice made by so many on that tragic day in 2001.

OPENING CEREMONY on THURSDAY, MAY 3 On Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m., Patriots Point, the Town of Mount Pleasant and Mt. Pleasant-based plaintiffs’ law firm Motley Rice LLC will host a ceremony to officially open the exhibit to the public. Joe Daniels, Chief executive officer of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation, will be the keynote speaker. Before taking the helm at the Foundation, Daniels spent 11 years directing the planning, construction, development and operations for the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York City. Representatives from Motley Rice will also speak during the opening ceremony. The firm’s anti-terrorism litigation team represents families and survivors of 9/11.
