Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will offer visitors access to this year’s Admiral Nimitz Foundation Virtual Symposium hosted by the National Museum of the Pacific War. The theme is “A Catalyst for Change: Diversity in World War II”. The virtual event will explore the diverse groups that supported and fought in War in the Pacific and how they overcame adversity abroad and on the home front.

“A Catalyst for Change” will stream live in the Smokey Stover Theater aboard the USS Yorktown Friday, September 17 from 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. and Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m.- 1:45 p.m. Access to the event is included in the price of admission.

Topics featured in the 34th annual symposium include “Half American: The Epic Story of Black Americans Fighting World War II at Home and Abroad,” “Diversity in the Modern Armed Forces,” and “Native Intelligence: American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian contributions to the Pacific War.”
