The Congressional Medal of Honor Society will celebrate National Medal of Honor Day at its headquarters onboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, and you are invited to take part!
From 10am to 2pm, The Medal of Honor Museum at Patriots Point will host a series of interactive and educational events for National Medal of Honor Day, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to engage with the Medal of Honor’s legacy. Highlights include:
- Meet-and-Greet with Medal of Honor Recipient Leroy Petry – A rare opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of courage and service from one of our nation’s 61 living Recipients.
- Medal of Honor Exploration Table – A hands-on experience featuring historic artifacts, Recipient stories, and an in-depth look at the history of the Medal of Honor.
- Meet the Museum Staff – Experts from the Medal of Honor Museum will share insights into the Medal’s history, preservation efforts, and the remarkable stories of its Recipients.
- Memorial Wreath – A solemn tribute honoring those who have served and sacrificed, held aboard the USS Yorktown.
The event is open to the public and provides a meaningful way for individuals of all ages to connect with American history and the values embodied by the Medal of Honor.
