• A short presentation from our historian about the Yorktown’s role in the Apollo 8 recovery mission, followed by an inspiring firsthand account from Paul Tillman, a Patriots Point volunteer who served as a recovery pilot for subsequent Apollo missions.
• Fun space trivia and time to explore the newly renovated exhibit at your own pace.

  • Longer Strides VR - The Apollo 11 Experience: Ride along with the crew of Apollo 11 and relive the events of July 1969 as you blast off from Kennedy Space Center in a massive Saturn V rocket to attempt humanity’s first steps on the Moon. Explore the Moon’s surface and witness the deployment of lunar experiments prior to your fiery re-entry through Earth’s atmosphere. A dazzling journey from launch to landing, this experience recalls original archive audio and video while utilizing VR technology to recreate the mission’s key moments.
  • Moon Thunder Simulator Ride: A routine moon mission of the not-too-distant future turns into crisis when a meteor shower strikes hard, wreaking devastation to your Moon base and requiring an all-out dash to find shelter. Survival depends on a fast emergency evacuation. Join our astronaut crew in this thrilling flight from danger and the collapsing surroundings of the doomed station. Will you reach the escape pod in time?
