Remembering WWI & The Unknowns
Join us for the next in the ongoing series of "Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things" symposiums. On 8 November 2018 at 7 p.m. we will be joined by Patrick O'Donnell, author of "The Unknowns." Released earlier this year, this book tells the story of nine American heroes who served our country in some of the most important battles of World War I.
Because of their amazing bravery and valor, these eight men were chose to serve as pallbearers at the ceremony when the Unknown Soldier was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. The ninth man had the honor of selecting the body that would become the "Unknown Soldier." O'Donnell will tell the audience more about these amazing men and their impact on the history of the United States.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and this event will shed a light on that pivotal time in our nation's history. The event is FREE and open to the public.
