TOP GUN: An American Story by Author Dan P. At Patriots Point
On May 30th, from 7:00-8:30 PM, Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and the USS Yorktown Foundation will host a program from best selling author Dan Pedersen, founder of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School, aka "TOP GUN". Tickets will be $10 and can be purchased below.
He will be sharing the riveting and little known story of the creation of this internationally distinguished program in his newly released book "TOP GUN: An American Story".
During the Vietnam War, on a shoestring budget, and with little official support, Pedersen handpicked 8 of the finest fighter pilots and developed the TOP GUN program to train a new generation to bend jets like the F-4 Phantom to their will. Pedersen's mantra: "In combat, second best is dead last." This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School, and the legacy continues today.
Signed copies of "TOP GUN: An American Story" will be for sale on the ship. The program will be in the Smokey Stover Theater on the USS Yorktown. Tickets will be $10! Click here to learn more and purchase tickets.
