USS Laffey Memorial Service

This annual memorial remembers the victims of the Japanese attack on the USS Laffey on April 16, 1945 that killed 32 sailors and wounded 71.  The memorial will be held on the fantail of the USS Laffey.

In addition to many veterans of the USS Laffey who served throughout her 30+ years of service, Frank Laskowski, who was one of the original crew members who survived the battle at Okinawa, will be in attendance.  Other special guests will be family members of Captain Julian Becton, who commanded the USS Laffey through the attack by 22 Japanese kamikaze aircraft on April 16, 1945.
