On nationally-observed Vietnam Veterans Day, March 29, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will honor and recognize the more than three million Americans who fought in the war with free museum admission and an official Department of Defense Vietnam Veteran lapel pin.  There will be a brief memorial service at 1 p.m. in the Vietnam Experience exhibit.

On this day, admission to our museum will be FREE for all Vietnam veterans and their immediate family members. Normal parking rates will apply. Representatives from the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center will be available to answer questions about veterans' issues from 11-2 within the Vietnam Experience exhibit.  This event is sponsored in part by the SunTrust Foundation.

March 29, 2018 will mark 45 years since United States troops left Vietnam (March 29, 1973). The war, which lasted longer than a decade, resulted in the death of more than 58,000 U.S. troops. Of those, 896 were from South Carolina. A memorial inside the Patriots Point Vietnam Experience Exhibit recognizes the ultimate sacrifice of each one of those men and women.
