Virtual Educator Science Café Series

Dates
Time
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

If you're an educator or parent-turned-educator, join the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium and Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum  as we serve up our first virtual "Back to Basics" Educator Science Café for the 2020-2021 season! We will be getting back to the basics with topics that address science, math, technology, and ELA standards. There is something for all grade levels for our first café, "Reading, 'Riting, Reactions, and Recipes" -- we will feature the beloved children's book "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" as an umbrella to address ELA, the water cycle, weather and climate, and chemistry concepts, and our very own Dave Williams, Meteorologist from ABC News 4, will be joining us as our guest science expert. You'll receive lesson ideas for classroom application and have the opportunity to network with each other. (Certificate for 2 contact hours for available upon request.)

But, that’s not all! In a new twist this year, a recipe will be shared after registration that you can make and enjoy as you participate in the café. This recipe will connect you to the science content -- and us with each other -- as we eat, learn, and share around the virtual dinner table.

pre-registration is required by September 25, 2020. Questions can be emailed to EV Bell or Hannah Giddens.
