5 Reasons to Visit Patriots Point this Fall

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or an annual member, there are so many reasons to visit Patriots Point. Here are our top five for fall:

1.  More History Bang for Your Buck— Get more out of your visit with a personal audio tour. You’ll hear exclusive stories about the ship and her crew, including first-hand accounts from WWII veterans. Tour at your own pace, for a small fee, through 100 points of interest. 2. Ghost Tours— Experience the paranormal with a 90-minute guided ghost tour exploring the unexplained mysteries of the USS YORKTOWN. Ghost Tours run Sunday–Thursday at 8:00 p.m. and Friday–Saturday at 9:30 p.m. Purchase tickets in advance here.

3. Scrappy Time— Get a photo with Scrappy, the official Patriots Point mascot based on a real pup that lived on board the USS YORKTOWN. Look for him appearing on the USS YORKTOWN and elsewhere, daily from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. You can find many Scrappy toys and keepsakes in the Ship Store.

4. Medal of Honor Museum— The Museum features interactive exhibits that tell the stories of brave Americans who displayed remarkable courage during their service. It’s a must-see Patriots Point experience! More details can be found here.

5. The Best View on the Harbor— Looking out over the Charleston Harbor toward the steeple-dotted Holy City skyline, the view from the flight deck of the USS YORKTOWN is worth a trip by itself.
