This December, you don’t have to trek to the North Pole for holiday cheer. Instead, bring the whole family to Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum for a one-of-a-kind experience that’s sure to delight. Throughout the entire month, you can enjoy seasonal guided tours, visits from Santa Claus, expertly-decorated Christmas trees, and more! Below, you can find your one-stop guide to your very own winter wonderland right here in Mount Pleasant. Get your tickets here!
SANTA SQUADRON
Looking for the perfect last-minute Christmas card? Our intel tells us that Santa Claus will make a landing onboard the USS Yorktown on December 10, 17, 18, 19, and 20. And, he’s made it so kids under 12 can come to the museum for free on those days! Don’t miss your opportunity to get pictures at the most unique location in South Carolina—click here to learn more and reserve your spot with Santa.
TINSEL TALES: GUIDED TOURS
The holiday Captain’s Tour is back! In this festive spin on the behind-the-scenes tour of the USS Yorktown, visitors will hear stories of the Apollo 8 space capsule recovery, look at menus for Christmas dinner aboard the aircraft carrier, and see the quarters where admirals and captains lived and dined during the holidays. FLIGHT DECK THE HALLS
Ok, we admit it, we couldn’t get clearance to put Christmas trees on the Flight Deck. But, we did deck the Hangar Bay onboard the USS Yorktown with uniquely-themed trees courtesy of our generous local sponsors. If you or your business would like the opportunity to sponsor a custom tree for next year’s holiday season, please reach out to meaghansilsby@ussyorktownfoundation.org.
SHARE THE LOVE
It’s the season for giving, and we’re proud to be a Toys for Tots collection point this year. Through December 12, you can bring new and unwrapped children’s toys to the Ship Store to help spread holiday joy across the country.
Also, we’re excited to share the USS Yorktown Foundation’s Legacy of Valor fundraising campaign. Through the month of December, you can support their mission to raise $10,000 for the preservation of history and the education of future generations at Patriots Point.
