As part of the 69th USS Yorktown Association Reunion from October 12-14, 2017, association members hosted a "Meet & Greet" session onboard the USS Yorktown on Saturday, October 14. Hundreds of visitors came to the ship for the rare opportunity to simultaneously meet numerous veterans from all decades of "The Fighting Lady's" military service.

Guests were lined up throughout the hangar deck of the Yorktown to meet veterans who served aboard the historic aircraft carrier from 1943 to 1970, including those who served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Many of the veterans sat behind photos from their service days and guests of all ages enjoyed seeing the Yorktown heroes during their time of service.  Guests were given a commemorative poster of the USS Yorktown in her three modifications through the years and also including some of the aircraft that took off from the ship.  Veterans enjoyed signing the poster on aircraft that meant something to their service or on the photo of the Yorktown from their time of service.

This annual event has been a part of the yearly USS Yorktown Association reunion and we are already looking forward to the 70th reunion next October 2018!
