Patriots Point Announces Weekly Ticket Give-Away for Fourth of July

Patriots Point - Home of the USS Yorktown.<br />
2012 4th of July BlastThey’re the hottest tickets in town and Patriots Point wants to give everyone a chance to win.  Every week from now through July 4, the museum will give away two tickets to celebrate the Fourth of July from the Flight Deck of one of the nation’s most historic warships, the USS Yorktown.  To enter, participants must simply ‘like’ the museum’s facebook page (www.facebook.com/PatriotsPoint.org) or follow the museum on twitter (http://twitter.com/Patriots_Point).  Fans and those who already follow Patriots Point will be able to sign up on each of the respective pages.

Flight Deck tickets (valued at $20 per person and $10 for children 11 and under) will provide guests with special access to the USS Yorktown starting at 6 p.m., with catered food and beverage available for purchase, as well as live musical performances throughout the evening. Once the sun sets in the Charleston Harbor, the Flight Deck of the Yorktown will offer a front row seat to one of the biggest and most entertaining fireworks displays in the state, which will feature firework shells shot from a barge in the Cooper River.

Last year marked the first time the museum offered this special seating and the tickets sold out in just over three weeks.

“The Fourth of July Blast at Patriots Point has become a Lowcountry tradition. It is, by far, our most anticipated event each year and we’re proud to welcome 40,0000 spectators to celebrate with us at Patriots Point and all around the harbor,” said Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette.

“Due to an overwhelmingly positive response from those who joined us for the Flight Deck celebration last year, we anticipate this year’s tickets will sell out even sooner,” Burdette continued.  “We want to give everyone a chance to attend and we’re excited to host this ticket give-away.”

Winners will be selected every Wednesday (June 19, June 26, and July 3) and awarded two adult admission tickets. Tickets will be available for pick up at the museum’s Ticket Office on the day of (and throughout the week leading up to) the Fourth of July.
