Patriots Point to Host Starlight Pops April 28

Date

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is proud to serve as this year’s location for First Federal’s Starlight Pops.  This annual event – hosted for the first time at The Grove at Patriots Point – is expected to welcome more than 2,000 guests for an afternoon celebrating music and food.

Starlight Pops has been a Lowcountry tradition for more than 25 years. This year’s event will begin at sundown and will feature a tribute to Broadway by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO), under the direction of Alex Agrest.  The performance will include selections from Mamma Mia, Chicago, Guys & Dolls, Annie and West Side Story. This year, Lowcountry vocalist Nancy Clayton Lefter will join the CSO for several songs.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. to allow time for a stroll through the Charleston Artist Guild Art Village, and dinner from one of the local food truck vendors, including: Pot Kettle Black, Taco Boy, Jack’s Cosmic Dogs, and more! Plus, there will be beer and wine available for purchase from MIX Bartending.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of the special Patriots Point ticket discount offered to Starlight Pops ticket holders on April 28:  buy a full priced ticket at regular price, get a ticket of equal or lesser value FREE.

Events ‘Take Off’ at Patriots Point

Patriots Point has evolved as one of the region’s most memorable travel destinations since its inception in 1975. Interior and exterior areas in 19 different locations provide options for large and small groups.

Guests now have access to spaces that were not previously available, including the Admiral’s Quarters, providing perspective on past life aboard a Navy ship and the new South Pier area, which provides a breezy waterside setting, with room for dining and dancing under Carolina blue skies or the stars.

This year, First Federal chose The Grove to host their annual event.  Recent improvements to the Grove have supplied electricity to provide ample power support for concerts and other large events in this grassy shaded grove with views of the Yorktown.  In addition, lighting will ensure that guests enjoy a comfortable and safe environment.
