Are the spirits of past heroes still on duty aboard the USS YORKTOWN? Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, the USS YORKTOWN (CV-10) Association and the Charleston Attraction Group are teaming up to offer a special tour that will allow visitors to investigate stories of sacrifice, heroism and the unexplained.

Visitors are invited to climb aboard “The Fighting Lady” to participate in a guided tour that explores the unexplained mysteries of the legendary WWII aircraft carrier. They will walk in the steps of heroes where many gave their all and a few may linger still. Visitors will have the opportunity to venture into areas normally restricted to the public and learn of the strange activity that has been documented and reported over the years, including the startling results of the investigation by Syfy Channel’s “Ghost Hunters.”

“We hold the men who served and died aboard the USS YORKTOWN in the highest esteem and we would never, ever do anything to disrespect their service.” said Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette. “Over the years, we have received many requests for this tour and we are excited to finally offer this opportunity for our visitors. We’re sure it will be a memorable and thought-provoking experience.”

The 90-minute guided tour walks visitors through a haunted, historical journey in which they will hear about the heroic sacrifices and the spirits that have been reported to haunt the USS YORKTOWN. Tours offer an immersive experience and include an introduction of the USS YORKTOWN and the many accounts of its paranormal activity as well as a guided tour with a professional guide who will lead guests from the bowels of the ship to the flight deck, where many sightings have taken place.
