Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum Prepares for Hurricane Dorian

Date

null
Due to the continued threat of Hurricane Dorian, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will close Tuesday, September 3. Once the coast is clear, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will reopen to the public as soon as essential services are restored. Patriots Point is a state agency, meaning when local government offices are closed, we follow their lead. We will reopen when they do.

Staff will spend the next few days preparing the museum ships, 28 aircraft, and exhibits for the storm's projected gusty winds and heavy rain.

Beginning Tuesday, September 3, all overnight camping aboard the USS Yorktown is currently suspended.  Those groups have been notified.  For more information about Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum’s storm preparations please visit www.facebook.com/patriotspoint.org, follow @patriots_point on Twitter, or follow @Patriots_Point on Instagram.

The "6th Annual 9/11 Silent Walk" commencing here on Saturday September 7, 2019 is still scheduled to be held but be sure to check back on our social media for updates!

Stay safe, Lowcountry!
