Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum received a Growth Grant from South Carolina Humanities, www.schumanities.org. Funding for the Growth Grants has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This $10,000 grant will be used to complete projects necessary to relaunch the museum's overnight program, like preparing the USS Yorktown's berthing areas for overnight guests and implementing additional COVID-19 health and safety measures.
Museum staff are currently refreshing the program that allows groups to sleep onboard the historic ship and learn what it means to live like a sailor. Patriots Point will announce soon when groups can begin booking overnight stays.
