MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will offer a 20 percent discount on all admission prices every Sunday in February. The “Super Sunday” deal will include a 10 percent discount all purchases made in the Patriots Point Ship Store.
In addition to the February discounts, the museum also announced that the first 2015 “Open Cockpit Sunday” will be held Sunday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During “Open Cockpit” days, guests are given the unique opportunity to climb inside many of the museum’s most historic aircraft, including the SBD Dauntless, F-9 Cougar, S-3 Viking, H-3 Sea King, F-18 Hornet, and A-6 Intruder. This year, visitors will also have the chance to explore the H-1 Huey and Ch-46 helicopters in the new interactive Vietnam Experience Exhibit.
“’Open Cockpit Sundays’ bring another level of excitement to our museum,” said Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum Executive Director Mac Burdette. “Families have a chance to climb inside rare and historic aircraft and sit where our brave pilots sat. Since ‘Open Cockpit’ Sundays are such a hit, we thought it would be perfect to offer the first in 2015 on a ‘Super Sunday’.”
Normal museum admission rates are $20 for adults and $12 for children ages 6-11. The “Super Sunday” discount will include admission to all three of Patriots Point’s historic warships, the Medal of Honor Museum, and the recently opened Vietnam Experience.
