Patriots Point Staff 'Hit The Road'

Date

null
Patriots Point staff are ‘hitting the road’ to visit community events throughout South Carolina and neighboring states to share exciting programs and opportunities for visitors to the museum.

In August, Patriots Point attended the popular Summerfest in York, SC.  Each year, this one-day festival attracts between 43,000 – 49,000 attendees from throughout the Southern United States. In October, Patriots Point will be at Oktoberfest in Hickory, NC.  This three-day festival brings an estimated 100,000 people to Downtown Hickory.

“Road shows are a great opportunity for us to meet new people and to share what we’re about,” said Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette.  “While most know of Patriots Point, many aren’t aware of the wide variety of programs available aboard the Yorktown and our surrounding properties.  Our mission is to let them know that we’re more than just an aircraft carrier museum – we’re one of the nation’s most popular overnight camping destinations, Charleston’s largest floating classroom, and an unforgettable event venue.”

  • Additional events are scheduled throughout the fall.  Visit www.patriotspoint.org to see if staff will be visiting an area near you.
