Visitors To Name Their Own Price for Admission Jan. 7 & 8

Date

The Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is asking visitors to name their own admission prices for the weekend of January 7-8, 2017.  This will be the sixth year the museum has offered a “Pay What You Can” weekend.  Instead of paying standard admission prices and parking fees, guests are encouraged to pay whatever they can afford.

“After the holidays, many families want to get out and spend time with each other but may have spent too much at Christmas and funds are tight,” said Executive Director Mac Burdette.  “We want to give those folks a way to enjoy our wonderful museum without having to worry about the price and their own financial situation.  No matter what they want to pay for parking and admission, it will be enough for us. This is a small way we can give back to the community that supports us throughout the year.”

The normal museum admission rate is $22 for adults and parking is $5. During the “Pay What You Can” weekend, visitors can pay whatever they feel comfortable paying for both admission and parking. Every ticket will include all three historic vessels, the Medal of Honor Museum and the Vietnam Experience Exhibit. As always, military in uniform and children under six are free.

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is an agency of the state of South Carolina but does not receive appropriated funding.  It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
