
Where are our carriers? Long a question asked by our Presidents during times of crisis. Today we have eleven aircraft carrier battle groups and today around the world five are deployed. They are:
USS Enterprise (CVN 65) - Atlantic Ocean | ||||

USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) - 5th Fleet | ||||
USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) - Pacific Ocean | ||||
USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) - Atlantic Ocean |
In 1998 China bought from Ukraine the Varyag, a 67,500-ton Kuznetsov-class attack aircraft carrier about two-thirds complete. China's first carrier could become operational in the near future, and will probably be used to learn the intricacies of carrier air operations.
