Become part of the crew, as Patriots Point brings the history of the Vietnam War to life in this fully immersive two and a half acre exhibit that brings Marine officers to life through holograms in an exciting 3-D production.

Included with admission.

A hero’s welcome home

The exhibit is set in a “Brown Water Navy” support base and a U.S. Marine Corps artillery fire base during the Tet Offensive and the Battle of Khe Sanh in 1968.

It features more than a dozen components that simulate life during wartime:

  • Quonset Hut
  • M35A2 –  2 ½ Ton Truck "Deuce and a Half"
  • Fire Control Bunker
  • Mess Hall
  • 105 Howitzer Gun
  • Willys M725 Ambulance
  • 5 Vietnam-era Helicopters:
    • CH-46 Sea Knight
    • UH-1 Huey
    • UH-1M Huey Medevac
    • UH-34 Sea Horse
    • AH-1J Sea Cobra
  • MK1 River Patrol Boat (PBR): dedicated to Medal of Honor recipient James Elliot Williams (see Medal of Honor Museum)
  • Observation tower: Climb to the top and hear the sounds of jets and helicopters flying overhead

The Vietnam Experience Exhibit also serves as a place for the two million Vietnam veterans in the United States to reflect and reconnect with their experiences during their years of service.

Phase II Complete

Exciting new additions have been added to the Quonset Hut. Experience the mini-theater located inside a replica of a Saigon street corner, view the M151 Jeep, and see an authentic 17 ft. Viet Cong Sampan. Plan your visit today to see it all for yourself!
