Title
CH-46E Sea Knight
Description
An olive drab helicopter with black detail coloration and a white Pegasus design on the tail. The helicopter has markings for the Medium Marine Helicopter (HMM) Squadrons 164 and 161 and Crew Chief J.D. Ganey, along with the Bureau Number 154009.
The CH-46 Sea Knight is an American tandem-rotor transport helicopter manufactured by Boeing Vertol. It's a medium-lift helicopter with two General Electric T58 turboshaft engines. The engines follow a redundant design which allows either engine to power both rotors in the event of emergency failure. The blades are designed to fold back for storage. The Sea Knight has a large cargo bay for carrying supplies or people in larger numbers. The CH-46E variant has improved hydraulics, avionics, and engines.
