Description
World War II era US Naval Aviator flight jacket name patch issued to Gerald Hennesy. Brown leather patch is a set of spread, feathered wings with a shield and fouled anchor with intertwined rope in the center. The wings and tag which reads 'G.C. Hennesy Lt. (JG) USNR' are debossed in gold foil.

Context
As a F4U Corsair fighter-bomber pilot in the Pacific, Gerald Hennesy flew almost 100 missions off the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-10). He received the Air Medal for downing an enemy aircraft during a rescue mission for one of his fellow pilots.
