Description
An olive drab vehicle resembling a box, the M113 is an aluminum, fully tracked armored personnel carrier (APC) produced by the FMC Corporation. The carrier was designed to be light enough for air transport but sturdy enough for all-terrains. The M113 has yellow markings for USMC 16 along the sides.
Context
M113 was the most widely used armored vehicle during the Vietnam War with the M113A1 variant running on diesel rather than gasoline.
The M113 arrived at Patriots Point in 2015 and is on loan from the US Army Center of Military History and the South Carolina National Guard.
